In 2019, I dropped my husband off at the Colony of Mercy at America’s Keswick, truly believing our marriage was over. But God.
God used the addiction recovery program at Keswick not only to begin healing Ben’s heart after more than 20 years of addiction, but also to begin healing mine. Through counseling, God began working in my own heart, bringing to light the sin, hurts, and baggage I had been carrying for years.
Through America’s Keswick, we both found the freedom our hearts had been craving, and God began a work of redemption in each of us that continues to this day.
Eight years later, I honestly can’t put into words the ongoing redemption we’ve witnessed since Ben graduated. God has done so much more than I ever could have imagined in our marriage, our hearts, and our family. Our story is a reminder that even when things feel hopeless, God is still at work.
This November, our family has the privilege of participating in the Turkey Trot to help raise funds for others who desperately need the same hope we found in Christ. We know firsthand that addiction affects more than just the person struggling, and recovery can bring healing to entire families.
